Comedy has one function: to be funny. And senses of humor vary, from the sick to the nonexistent. If anything is killing comedy it’s not PC/wokeness, it’s literal-minded ppl constantly patting themselves on the back on Twitter. Why should anybody stop doing what they’re good at doing? Who is anybody to tell anyone else to stop creating? Who determines if and when the “zeitgeist” has moved on? A committee of bloggers? Editorial boards at the mercy of corporate advertising? Pass. Chappelle, for one, still has stuff to say, and people are still laughing.
